  • Register for the 2008 Casper College Business Awareness event to be eligible to take part in this unique Entrepreneuship Contest. Click to get your flyer!
  • The deadline for the event Registration by your High School is
    October 6th, 2008.
  • The deadline for Contest entrance is 5:00pm, Wednesday, December 31st, 2008. Submissions will not be accepted after this deadline.
  • The entrants will be juried by the Casper College Business Division and Liz Ott, Business Division Chair.
  • Four (4) $1500 awards will be presented in January, 2009.

Rules And How To Enter:

  1. Register for the 2008 Casper College Business Awareness event as you must attend to be eligible.
  2. The deadline for entrance is 5:00pm, Wednesday, December 31st, 2008. Submissions will not be accepted after this deadline.
  3. Send contest materials to:
    KAY DEMAREE - BUSINESS DIVISION - CASPER COLLEGE - 125 COLLEGE DRIVE - CASPER, WY 82601
    with a subject header of "Entrepreneurship Contest Entry"

Final Plan Submission:

  • The Entrepreneurship Contest submission is the actual document you are submitting for judging and is due by 5:00pm, Wednesday, December 31st, 2008.

  • Submissions must be on 8.5 x 11 paper and may not exceed twenty pages of text, graphs, and appendices.

  • At a minimum, final submissions should include:
    • Ten (10) copies for distribution to judges;
      • Title page
      • School name, address, website, email, phone number
      • All team member names and individual contact information - name, Graduation month/year, email, phone, address.
      • Primary student contact.
      • Primary Faculty Advisor(s) - name, title, class, email, phone, address.
      • Detailed Project Description
        • Explaining the concept clearly and persuasively.
        • Opportunity or Problem in the market you wish to exploit/solve.
        • How does your product/service address the problem or opportunity?
      • Financial: annual projections on how the $1500 will be spent
        other analysis, as appropriate (e.g., break-even analysis; estimated market share calculations, etc.);
        a working model or prototype, if practicable;
        market data based on customer research and customer response analysis.
        Note: $1000 will be delivered to the winning entries to begin the projects
        and the remaining $500 will be delivered upon completion of a detailed summary report to the Casper College Business Awareness Committee (no later than 10/01/09).
      • Summary

Evaluation Criteria:

Winning entries will be determined by the panel of Casper College judges.
Applications will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria:

  • the project's coherence
  • the project's feasibility
  • the project's originality
  • the project's potential for success
  • the quality and clarity of the application package

Confidentiality

The Casper College Business Division agrees to respect the confidentiality of all the business projects entered in the 2008 Entrepreneurship Contest. However, it reserves the right to mention the names of award recipients as well as the names and brief descriptions of the prize-winning projects.
